While Japan was reveling in the amazing reveal of the very first Masterpiece Transformer, Hasbro was scrambling to find a way to release the toy in the USA. Without a lot of foresight, they made a deal with the Devil, I mean Walmart, to cobble together a one-off release of the brand new Masterpiece Convoy toy.
The USA version of Masterpiece Convoy had some very notable differences. First off, the paint deco was featured a battle-damaged look to it that separated it quite a bit from the Japanese release. The gun was black instead of gunmetal gray, and perhaps the biggest differentiator is that the smokestacks were neutered significantly on the shoulders for American safety standards.
This release was still quite unique and holds special significance for being the very first Masterpiece Transformers release in America and outside of Japan.
Comes mint in sealed box.
